Prophecy sets the Bible apart from all other writings in that it has, and still does, predict with total accuracy events still future.
We all know of the scores of predictions given in the Old Testament concerning the first coming of Christ, His birth, ministry, death and resurrection and how all were fulfilled even in the smallest details in the life of our Lord Jesus Christ. But what of all those yet to be fulfilled? People in the world consult all sorts of ‘would-be seers’ in an attempt to know something of the future, but most never check out God’s Word in the Bible and yet it has proven itself 100% accurate always. It has much to say concerning things yet to take place on the earth—environmental changes, signs in the sun and moon and stars, wars and troubles, famines, pestilences and earthquakes etc. But it is also full of wonderful predictions of great blessings. Check it out!! More to come.

In recent times, some 'people of note' in Christendom have put forward the idea that the study of prophesy is not really necessary. They advocate that people should concentrate on 'doing good' instead.
I would propose that the study of prophesy is indispensable. As we see from scripture how God foretold things in the past through the prophets and brought them to fulfillment, our faith should grow and we should become certain of the future fulfillment of the Word yet to happen. As our faith in God grows, so will our desire and ability to do the works God has for us to do. So I fear the 'people of note' I mentioned earlier have things in the reverse order.
