Prelude

'The war to end all wars' they said
It surely proved a lie--
The fields of mainland Europe red,
Nearly forty million lying dead--
How many more must die?

For twenty years a world shell-shocked
Dwelt in uneasy peace
But Nazi hate the gate unlocked
One night now known as Kristallnacht--
The 'dogs of war' unleashed.

The hordes of Hitler's hell-bent rage
Obsessed with crazed resolve
Tread Europe down in mad rampage,
The armies of the world engage--
All nations soon involved.

Great cities levelled, vapourised--
The H-bomb devastates--
A world men thought was civilised
By blood and carnage undisguised--
Eighty million lives laid waste.

Since then many millions more have died
In an avalanche of hate;
In conflagrations far and wide
An obvious and fearsome slide--
Apocalyptic state.

What future can we postulate
In devastation's wake?
Will war and conflict yet abate?
Or could it be this is checkmate?
God Himself will undertake.

Such birthpangs prophets long foretold
Consummating in our day.
Remember God is in control
And though the love of men grows cold
God's Word is underway.

In dust and death see figtree grow
Despite the 'dogs of war'
As prophesied so long ago
A sign to let His people know
The Lord is at the door.

He warned--'Let not your love grow cold
Though lawlessness abound'
The Word of truth by faith uphold,
Let love and joy rule in your soul--
Soon, we'll be homeward bound.

In The Storm

0 Comments

Read Now

In the rumbling peals of thunder
In the flashing forks of light
As the clouds are burst asunder
By the tempest's fearsome might
Blinding flashes without number
Hurled from Heaven's lofty height--
Bow my head in awe and wonder
As the lightning bolts ignite.

Though I marvel, slightly frighted
At the storm-cloud's flash and flare
Fire and brimstone can be sighted
In the Heaven's angry glare
And our frailty's highlighted
Our fragility laid bare
And the might of God is cited
To each eye that is aware.

In this awesome demonstration
Nature's energy untamed
Presents Heaven's illustration
Of God's judgement yet restrained
As the sky gives acclamation

'Fore a world that stands ashamed--
To my heart a revelation
In the stormy skies proclaimed.

God's the blessed illustrator
On the blackboard of the night;
He's the Author, instigator
Of this spectacle of might;
It shouts loudly of Creator
In each blast and bolt of light--
Yes the sky's God's amphitheatre
Where's displayed His pow'r tonight.

The Message

0 Comments

Read Now

There’s a message in the Scriptures
You can follow page by page
Ever pointing men to Jesus,
It’s the truth to every age.
It’s the promise of a Saviour
Who would come to live as man
Who would take our sins upon Him--
Our redemption is God’s plan.

Would you dare refuse its message
For the pottage offered here,
For the carnal courts of Pharaoh
And the things the world holds dear?
For if you reject God’s promise
Death is waiting at the door
There will be no second chances
If His message you ignore.

I implore you to consider
What His message has to say;
For the time is passing quickly.
You may only have today;
So search out the truth of Scripture
With open heart and honest mind;
You will find there every answer
Leaving death and doubt behind.

And then onward on your journey
To that place of promised rest,
On to New Jerusalem
And the mansions of the blessed.
Oh what bliss and joy awaits us
In the presence of the Lord--
It’s all written in His Message--
He will bring to pass His Word.

Molecules

0 Comments

Read Now

A whole bunch of nothing
By big bang blown apart
Chaos into something
Where order got its start;
This is what they teach our children
In marxist public schools--
From zilch to molecules.

Scraping through the mud piles
To find the missing link
Recreating profiles
Devising how we think;
All passed off as scientific
Well- proved established fact--
How dare one counteract!

Faith in a Creator
Is held to ridicule--
Trust the educator
Though God would call him--Fool!
While all around the evidence
Shows order beyond wise
Which 'science' so-called decries.

Cosmos, vast, unbounded
Is evidence enough,
Finite minds confounded_
Resort to scorn and bluff;
God is Alpha and Omega
He authored molecules--
Not randomness but rules.

More on Prophecy

0 Comments

Read Now

Prophecy sets the Bible apart from all other writings in that it has, and still does, predict with total accuracy events still future.

We all know of the scores of predictions given in the Old Testament concerning the first coming of Christ, His birth, ministry, death and resurrection and how all were fulfilled even in the smallest details in the life of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But what of all those yet to be fulfilled?

People in the world consult all sorts of ‘would-be seers’ in an attempt to know something of the future, but most never check out God’s Word in the Bible and yet it has proven itself 100% accurate always. It has much to say concerning things yet to take place on the earth—environmental changes, signs in the sun and moon and stars, wars and troubles, famines, pestilences and earthquakes etc.

But it is also full of wonderful predictions of great blessings.

Check it out!!

More to come.

Why Prophesy?

0 Comments

Read Now

In recent times, some 'people of note' in Christendom have put forward the idea that the study of prophesy is not really necessary. They advocate that people should concentrate on 'doing good' instead.

I would propose that the study of prophesy is indispensable. As we see from scripture how God foretold things in the past through the prophets and brought them to fulfillment, our faith should grow and we should become certain of the future fulfillment of the Word yet to happen.

As our faith in God grows, so will our desire and ability to do the works God has for us to do. So I fear the 'people of note' I mentioned earlier have things in the reverse order.

"Let the potsherds strive with the potsherds of the earth"
Isaiah 45:9 NKJV

My Expectation

0 Comments

Read Now

These days are marked by great upheaval
Nations raging left and right
While legislating rampant evil
(Opposing forces weak and feeble)
Men make darkness into light.

With states aligning as predicted
By the seer Ezekiel,
And though this Scripture long conflicted
With the 'brave new world' depicted
Time has proved he's spoken well.

We're often told in Scripture's pages
To be watching for the signs
But with the passing of the ages
Men put more trust in worldly sages
Than in God or 'signs of times'.

Momentous things now consummated
Backing Scriptures long foretold,
Long scattered nation relocated
( A people hunted, harried, hated)
Moses prophesied of old.

Jerusalem's the epicentre
Where all nations meet their fate,
There, every foe and God-dissenter
Will, by the leading of the tempter
Meet their end on God's due date.

My expectation is the Rapture
Not the Antichrist's advent;
My understanding is from Scripture
And not from reason or conjecture;
It's a day that's imminent.

I'm watching, waiting, all excited;
Soon my Saviour will appear,
The saints of ages rise united
Their everlasting hope requited--
Fig tree blooming--Christ is near!

Imagination or Revelation

0 Comments

Read Now

There are well known preachers, teachers and Christian authors who advocate the use of our imagination for the advancement of our Christian experience.
They praise the poetry and fiction of those who speak of God and His ways, not according to His revealed Word, but according to the imaginations of their own hearts:
This is false and deadly dangerous:
The consistent record of Scripture is that the imagination of man's heart is only evil continually: Gen 8v21, Deut 29v19, Jer 23v17, Lk 1v51, Rom 1v21, 2 Cor 10v5 and many others.

By the Word of God in both the Old Testament and the New Testament, God reveals Himself to man.
The pinnacle of this revelation is in Jesus Christ through whom the way of truth is known:
It is by revelation not imagination!!
